Quiet Mouths for Marks That are not Words

"This piece depicts a column of word-like forms that cannot be read and mouths that are separated from bodies. The theme is separation, manifested in various ways."

Amy Todman is an artist and writer. Originally from Scotland, she has lived in Armenia for the last two years. Before coming to Armenia she completed a Ph.D. in the seventeenth-century British landscape, a master's in the history of collecting, and an undergraduate degree in fine art.

 

She also worked for a number of years as a curator of political collections at the National Library of Scotland. In 2019 she published two poetry pamphlets ((g(love), Sad Press; TWIG, Amy Todman) and is currently working with filmmaker Rita Tokatlian on a film of her recent screenplay ‘Line’ (forthcoming 2020).
